High School

High school courses are offered year-round at the Kansas City Art Institute. All courses are designed to provide a preview of what art school life is like and advance each student's art and design skills technically, creatively, and conceptually.

Portfolio Preparation courses are offered for one hour of college credit. Students are encouraged to take credit courses in sets of three; three hours of college credit are typically equivalent to one college course. Courses taken for credit will appear on a student's transcript.

A number of need-based summer camp scholarships are available every year for youth and high school students. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and space available. All scholarships recipients will receive an allergy-friendly, non-perishable lunch on the days that the scholarship has been awarded.

Call (816)802-3333 to ensure you are on Continuing Education's email list to receive regular updates on youth and high school scholarship opportunities.
